Friday 16th of June
Another big trip, I was waiting to see some good friends who did not go to Thale. This time it was me, Robert, Benny and Nino with our new green van. Good luck it's only 500km from Zurich, easier than the distance for Thale. The track of the race was really nice, 5 big hairpins and one last turn with 90 degrees, the length 2km, a really good surface for riders with hard wheels, and the temperature on Saturday and Sunday was 30º. When we arrived in the camping ground, there was the joy of Friday night, maybe 10 or 14 tents, and each minute more people arrived, 94 total of riders for stand up, I felt that the weekend would get hot and fast hits.

Saturday 17th of June
This championship had athletes from Switzerland, Brazil, Germany, Sweden, Holland, South Africa, Canada, Australia and France. I woke up Saturday soon early for start the training, that had been marked by the organization for at 8:00 am, but at 11:00 am the training really started .

Training /lift

The tension was great in making the first run, many first runs were wonderful, the track had 5 hairpins (two for right and three for left) and one last nice turn 90 degrees for right.

Swedish Riders
Robert from Switzerland
Jodi crash in the last turn.

We had 3 runs of training that had me left crazy, the track wasn't very fast, top speed in my GPS was 68.4km/h, but the five hairpins and the last turn 90 degrees promised a great competition. Each run was more crazy trying to make the hairpins more fast and with short foot break, many insane crashes in the last turn, I only saw many friends passing straight in the last turn, I crashed only one time, or better one rider crashed in me, Pili from Germany.

Adrian from Germay, Last turn
Adrian
Benny from Switzerland, crash last turn.

In the late afternoon, after the lunch break, started the qualify, Martin Siegrist did the best time, I did 2.31.09 time, really bad my time, 94 riders, second run I tried go more fast and better time, second run 2.31.04 really small difference.

At the end of the day everybody was very tired for the runs, 30 degrees celsius during all day inside of leather suits, after a good dinner I could enjoy the party and the bands, but always remembering to go to sleep early for the championship in the following day.

Dinner in the Camping Ground

The problem was that my tent was next the tent of the band, I had that to wait until 2:00 am to sleep well and dream of the track.

Sunday 18th of June
So on Sunday it started, the sunshine was well strong, and the delay as always, it is normal. First the runs of streetluge had been made, and later would come the  stand up. My first run was together with Aki (Alexander Von Glass/Swiss), without problems, we are great friends and training together, the race would be me and Aki.

My first run, go Aki.
My first run with Aki

Only 64 athletes had been classified of the 94 enrolled athletes.
Start the first run racers ready, racers set, 3, 2, 1...... GO.
Me and Aki were calm in the first run; we managed the first hit that didn't offer as much competition from the others.

Runs
Bassi, Adrien and Snake
Streetluge runs
Robert from Switzerland, go Robert!

Then in the second run another story, we find Christof Haller and other big friend from France, I had a really nice run, hard game, side by side in the run, watching who foot breaks first, one leaning in the other, this gave me an overdose of adrenalin, more as the first run when me and Aki passed to the next run. That would be my final run, me and Aki and two strong French riders in the run number three, Cedric Shrek and a new French that gave a injured work to me, the whole time i tried to draft the others, more than nothing, no possible draft good in this road too slow, before the last turn i tried catch the guys, i forced too much, big slide in the turn and crash in the rebails, only Aki and one French guy had passed to the next run, everybody getting crazy with the last turn, many children had come to me and asked me to give autographs, well I had a great time with the kids. The final run and the semi final run were getting hot, the final Aki/Swiss, Martin/Swiss, Adrien/France and Bassi/Germany.

my last run, crash.
Really nice turn, number 1.

The Final run, Bassi Haler came dominating but Aki surprised Bassi, Aki had a small advantage from the other. Before the last turn, Aki came dominating, guaranteeing the first place, Bassi Haler crashed, Adrien Barat came third place, Martin Siegrist came in second place but crashed in the last turn, so Adrien took the second place and Martin took his board and ran to the finish line, so Bassi came in fourth place.

Final Run, Aki won.

Now we are waiting for the next IGSA world cup in Sweden/July, I think that will be a really good race, riders from Sweden, South Africa, Swiss, Brazil, France, Germany, Canada and U.S.A
